Cochise's Great Grandson.

Christine Rhodes, a Cochise County Historian
remembers him.  He attended all the major event s in
Cochise County,
 He was a bit of a celebrity and was
even Grand Marshall of several parades in Tombstone.  

He was a nice enough guy and freely gave out
autographs, shook hands, kissed babies ...

But here is the kicker -
not only was he not Cochise's Great Grandson -
he wasn't even native American!  

He was Italian!  

He duped everyone for years, basking in all the attention.

There are still several of these autographs floating
around in the hands of old timers.

How funny is that?
